TECHNOLOGICAL STUDY
A technological study consists in objective observations and examinations of the materiality of an artwork. This step leads to a better understanding of the nature of a piece and its history. Those informations gathered allows to build an appropriate proposal treatment for each work of art. Based on this study, our stdio can provide a condition report or advices on the conservation state of an artwork.

ABOUT US
ABOUT US
Collective Art Restoration Studio (CARe-Studio) is a conservation studio specialised in modern, contemporary and ancient art, located in the heart of Brussels. The studio was founded in 2021 by five internationally trained conservators. Together we cover several disciplines and areas of expertise. We face conservation challenges and issues by adapting the treatment methodology to the specific problematics of the artwork.

Each artwork is carefully examined in the studio or on-site. The studio is fully equipped and offers easy access for oversized and heavy artworks as well. If a treatment is necessary, a treatment proposal will be made accordingly. Additionally, we offer on-site services as well as collection maintenance, consultation and recommendations on storage and environmental monitoring. We also provide advice on installation, packing, and shipping of artworks.
By participating in conferences and workshops, we keep up with the latest research and developments, and furthermore contribute to the education of students at l'École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Visuels de La Cambre as professors, lecturers or through workshops.

Treatments are conducted in accordance with the code of ethics of the European Confederation of Conservator - Restorers' Organisation (E.C.C.O.) and International Chartes (Venice, Copenhagen and Pavia).

The team's career path illustrates its devotion towards the preservation of cultural heritage through a rigorous approach.
